Medrano'south visual presentation features images of 1800s downtown San Antonio, showing how ethnic Mexican women restaurateurs fabricated San Antonio a famed culinary destination. He will cook half dozen recipes, demonstrating accurate cooking techniques for preparing cactus, chiles, and making
moist, aromatic "masa." He will offer tastings of Cactus/shrimp gorditas and traditional "Hojarascas" cookies. Medrano will besides personally sign copies of his critically acclaimed cookbook with 100 kitchen-tested recipes.
